Capitola: The one good thing about this south swell….

Happy Kayakers
 …is that the kayaking has been awesome! These girls had a blast riding the swells later in the day, though it was a bit chilly because the easterly had begun to blow. Weather’s going to be nice this weekend, so if you want to go kayaking, come by before noon - it’ll be warm and less windy then.

Capitola: Lots of jack smelt

Happy kids with jack smelt
 Not a lot of action save for a few rock fish here and there - the still-not-in-the-forecast southern swell has been making a mess of things of late.

There are lots of jack smelt around though - these kids had a blast hooking them up on a rental boat today. There’s been some interesting pelican diving action in the marina - these things are probably related.
