Capitola: Good day for variety

Finn Tim and Halibut
Finn and Tim caught this legal halibut using live anchovies off the mile buoy today. Finn was a pretty happy camper - good job buddy.

Elsewhere, aside from the thresher that we posted earlier, we saw four more come in this afternoon - the same guys as yesterday. They were fishing live anchovies off the cement ship again, and released 10. So threshers are still abundant.

Kurtis flew the skunk flag today - he was fishing for seabass. He did see a small school of eight big fish off Soquel point this afternoon, but they weren’t interested.

A few rentals (we didn’t have many out today) came in with a few rock cod. Boats were fishing around Adam’s reef using live anchovies. One little girl got to fight a 40 pound bat ray today at Adam’s reef as well (hoping it was a white seabass) - quite an adventure.

As we mentioned, there’s lot of bait around and we’re still seeing pelicans dive bombing around the wharf. There’s a slight southern swell - not big, not frequent - that started later this morning; it’s more noticable when the tide is lower.

Tomorrow looks nice - come on out and have a long weekend!
