Capitola: Good day for variety

Mike Frank Jerry and catch
So - sorry for the lack of posts today - it’s not for a lack of fish - just a lack of vigilance.

Here’s Mike and Frank and Jerry with today’s catch off the Ono. The rockfish - among which is the most awesomely colored vermillion I have ever seen (I’m not Ed) - were caught off the main Santa Cruz reef. The halibut was caught off Soquel point. They were using live anchovies from Bocci - all the bait has gone into hiding on the ocean today.

The seabass went into hiding as well - no sightings at all. It is a big bay though - they’re out there somewhere.

Several other private boats had halibut today - mostly in the 15 to 18 pound class. And there was the radio fish we mentioned earlier. The Capitola halibut were caught off Soquel point.

One more day for boat bucks - hope to see you tomorrow.
