Capitola: Lots of persistence equals dinner

Matt and flounder
So - if you look only casually, you might not notice that Matt’s hands actually appear larger than his head in this photo due to the fact that he’s holding it as far away from himself as possible so as to, um, accentuate the size of the fish.

This is Matt’s catch of the day - a nice 22.5 inch halibut. He caught it inside the yellow buoy in 57 feet of water using live sardines. He managed to jig up some bait straight off the wharf in 80 feet of water, but it took a while to find. Bait’s kinda thin out there right now.

Otherwise - beautiful day on the water, not many boats out. Hopefully we’ll get some more out this weekend so we can get a better sense of the situation.
