Capitola: Water is clear, but…

Lou and jacksmelt
…perch have slowed down a bit. Andy got one today, and that’s about it so far. Here’s Lou with a jacksmelt he caught midway on the wharf using shrimp on a bait jig. Looks like a school of medium sized ones has taken up residence here for the moment.

Ed got a smaller jacksmelt on a dead man setup hoping for a halibut or a striper – fingers are crossed all up and down the wharf here. No other stripers have been landed since Saturday, but someone did have one on Sunday – shrimp on a surf leader – but he farmed it.

So – things are slowly picking up – more as it happens.
