Capitola: Not too rough for firsts

posted at 6:09 PM in Fishing Reports |
Nathan and Devon are visiting from South Africa and managed to squeeze in a couple of lifetime firsts today: They both caught their first fish ever! Nathan caught this kelpfish, and between the two of them they caught eight perch as well. Congratulations you guys!

Elsewhere on the wharf the swell was up big time today, and while that made getting perch to bite a bit easier, it also kicked up a lot of kelp that was pretty easy to get tangled up in. So it was kind of a tossup. You’re doing ok if you could get your fish up past the various hazards.
