Capitola: Some people make it look so easy
posted at 6:29 PM in Fishing Reports |
| Jim should probably start playing the lottery or something. . It was his first time out in his boat this year, and he left around 12:30 as he had to charge his battery before he left. We went out to O’Neils and tried some frozen chovies, but had no joy. Then a ball of sardines floated under his boat - he jigged some of those up and next thing you know there’s a 26 inch halibut in his boat. Pretty smooth dude!
We only had one rental out today - they fished Capitola reef and a few other spots and came in with a few rock fish. It is difficult to extrapolate from that, so I will not try The forecast continues to show a very small intermittent SW component to the wind in the outside forecast, but that’s supposed to be gone by Saturday. The reality of it is this: the swell appears to be subsiding substantially, and the gloominess seems to be leaving us. All nice trends if they continue. Remember tomorrow is the last day for boat bucks this week - if you wanna play hookie and get some fish tomorrow’s the day! |
