| Woot! Ed’s boat came in smelling like a *daisy* today as he managed to shoo that stinky skunk away for today. Ed caught this 18.5 pounder using live sardines on a halibut rig. He was fishing in front of the harbor in 40-50 feet of water. Dan caught his 16 pounder in the same area with the same gear. Very nice catch you guys. And it’s nice to see Ed smiling again.
That area was pretty active today - Ed saw one boat in the same area get three in a row - all quality fish. Ed also fished Capitola reef for a while in about 40 feet of water. He caught one short ling and four quality browns, one of which he kept. There’s a big ball of sardines right outside of the Capitola marina as we speak, and it’s kinda been in the area since this morning. Sea lions everywhere. If you wanna go kayaking and see some happy sea lions, you probably wanna visit Capitola. As you can tell from the photos, weather pretty much could not be nicer. It was sunny all day, it’s still sunny, but the temps stayed sane all day. |

| Something is definitely going on around the area of the point. Emmet came in grinning ear to ear with his lifetime first halibut! He caught this 12 pounder using a dead sardine in 40 feet of water off Pleasure Point this morning. Congratulations Emmet! |

| Dino and Matt just emailed to let us know of the monster they hooked up on yesterday in 40 feet of water off 26th avenue. It bit its last bite on a Spanish mackerel. This 47 inch monster weighed in at 42.5 pounds!! They report that they had to chase it around a bit with the boat. One can only imagine. Awesome(!!) catch Dino - congratulations! |
