| Danny, Jeromy, and Alex got in on the afternoon sardine bite in the marina. They left late today, tried for some rock cod without too much success (without any, actually, but success is relative when the weather is nice). Then they came , took a lunch break at the restaurant, and Ed pointed them at the sardines in the marina. They finished the afternoon by filling up a bucket of sardines and had a great time.
So - obviously - there’s a lot of bait around. The sea lions are actually exhibiting pack like behavior; they’ve been sort of mowing through the bait in waves. Literally. It looks like waves. There have been dolphins cruising through as well. Pretty cool. Weather wise - a little bit different from yesterday. It was kinda drizzly in the morning (lots of fog) then it cleared out to the usual paradise mode, and now we are back into some fog. It’s not too cool however, so eh it’s fine. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same - we’ll see. |

| K so Shawn has the luck of the Irish it seems - ‘cept she’s not Irish. She was fishing from the jetty this morning and landed THREE flatties pretty much one right after the other. Two were short, and this one was 24 inches. She was using live sardines on a halibut rig. Wow - cool.
Oh - as regards last night’s striper action, there were only two caught off the beach and on the wharf there was just one 30 pounder on but it got off. So - nothing quite as exciting as the night before. It might be that there was too much bait close to the beach last night. Today it was staying farther out however, so maybe it’ll be a better evening bite. |
