You should be - cuz guess what’s back? BIG GHOSTS!
Ed caught this 24 pound 43 inch white seabass today off Privates using a white fishtrap. The battle lasted about 15 minutes - Ed was using 30 pound test so he could work it harder and keep it from running into the kelp. He saw a bunch more out there, so it looks like it’s on again like last year (it was about the same time). Point of interest: this fish had TWO tags on it. One of them indicated that it was tagged near Oceanside, so we know for sure this one traveled kind quite a ways to get to our dinner plates. We thank it for the effort.
The stenographer is done writing for tonight becuase Ed gave him a big ol slab of seabass for dinner and he’s about to go cook it up.
See you tomorrow |

Brendon here took to the kayak again today and fished off New Brighton. The stars are obviously aligned for him, cause he caught both a 6.5 and a 17.5 (!!!) pound stripers today. He was using live sardines on a halibut rig in about 20 feet of water. Save some for the rest of us Brendon |

Schools out and so is our intrepid Joey. It’s been a bit slow for him up ’til now but this one more than makes up for it. He caught this 7.5 pound striper on the wharf down by the breaks using a live sardine. Beautiful fish - congratulations Joey! |
