Capitola: Let the waiting begin

Audrey brought her Dad some luck today. They were fishing sardines at the end of the wharf. She took him down close to the beach where he used a live bait setup, and he bagged this nice tasty striper. Nice catch you two!

Only one boat out today, and they got skunked. No privates out. There are no fish here. They’re allllll gone. Worse – we have a swell! So there’s probably not gonna be much here ’til two things happen:

1) Swell goes away

2) Someone stumbles upon the next wave of fish that moves in.

‘Til then, this is now officially one of those times when seasoned anglers talk about paying their dues.

Capitola: Last call for baitahol

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 89874 * Sachel and his sister were fishing on the wharf today and had fun catching sardines and mackerel. In the photo he’s holding a Pacific mackerel. People were catching lots of sardines and mackerel from the end of the wharf to about the gate. Bait has slowed down a bit – it’s still towards the middle to the end of the marina but it’s not biting as aggresively as it had been that last several days. There’s a south swell coming in now – it is the clear culprit.
