Capitola: We cannot think of nouns that fit the hovering theme (that are rated P.G.)

Dave got this five pound striper (his second striper off this wharf) using a live sardine under a bobber down close by the beach. He also got his third striper using the same setup in the same place, and it was roughly the same size. Annnd about six and a half minutes ago a girl who’s name we didn’t catch hooked but lost a 30 pounder!

Bait was not around the wharf early this morning, but it was pretty thick out at the end of the marina. Bait didn’t start happening off the wharf ’til about 9:30 a.m. As of right now they’re still catching sardines off the wharf along with some mackerel and some very small anchovies.

There is not much else to say. All the fish are gone. Gone gone gone. They must have seen the seiners show up (we see them hovering around the marina right now). In fact if you look closely at this photo you might see a seiner in the background – hovering.

Santa Cruz: Grandpa Bill has a present!

Sheriff Larry is standing over the stenographer’s shoulder. Here it comes:

“Bill Roland fished with brother Sheriff Larry today and caught these two nice halibut weighing 12 and 13 pounds. These were caught on the west side of Santa Cruz using live sardines. Bill wants to dedicate these fish to his grandchildren Taylor, Dylan, Calib, and Adam, who all live in the state of Washington.”

Remarkably civil, Larry. Thank you!
