Capitola: Old chip crumbles under strain, Ed to follow

Double triple dang darn dang. Our best picture of the day – with our highliners – regular readers – has gone to the bit bucket in the sky. We need a new chip. We are soooo sorry. And yes, this is becoming an old song. We will get a new chip tomorrow!!!

The photo we are missing is a picture of Alana and her friends P.J., Tim, and Rosie with their halibut – a nice 24 incher. Even though she didn’t want to hold the fish she cracked a big smile and then we lost the pic. В  Arrrrrggghhhhh! They caught it off the edge of the kelp by New Brighton inside of Spongebob on a live sardine. We will try to make it up to you guys some how.

Elsewhere on the water, pretty much the same story on the rentals that we’ve been seeing – a few rock cod here and there. We had eleven boats out that were fishing, and probably 5 of the 11 got skunked. Ugh. Still – really nice day on the water – beautiful weather, and dolphins galore.

On the wharf, the bat rays and sardines continued to come in, and in fact the sardine bite really picked up this afternoon.

Ed is burned out, but he’s got high hopes that a day of fishing (tomorrow) will recharge his batteries. We all wish him luck.

    Hi Ed

Hey, all is not lost. The photo of Alana with her first halibut is in the Begonia Festival Fishing Derby gallery.

Thanks again for everything. We had a great day out on the water.

    Tim (not Kim) :)

Thanks Tim! I’ll move it out of there and do a quick post – it’ll take a few minutes.
