Capitola: Chip decides to cut us some slack on the seabass

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 93574 * Nguyen caught this short white seabass on a live sardine midway between the beach and the security gate on the east side of the wharf about 10 minutes ago. It’s no 18 pounder and he did let it go but it shows that they are around.

Capitola: Darn. Darn darn darn. Darn darn darn darn darn darn darn!!!!

Well folks. You’re going to have to use your imagination and trust us on this one cuz “the chip” has struck again. And yes I know we swore up and down we were going to get a new one. We didn’t.

So – imagine if you will a very happy guy by the name of Herni holding an 18.5 pound seabass. If you have that in your mind, imagine that he caught in in about 70 feet of water straight off the wharf in a rental skiff using a wooden danny plug. That’s a pretty nice picture isn’t it???? It’s true. But no pic to prove it. Unless – Henri – if you’re reading this and you happen to have taken a picture of it, we’d be OVERJOYED to have a copy of it so we could post it.

And really, that’s about it for today with the exception of a 27 inch halibut that Anthony caught just past the west side of the wharf at the edge of the kelp in about 16 feet of water. He was using a live sardine on a halibut rig. No pic there either.

Bait’s like crazy in here. Dolphins are plentiful and extremely cool. Stenographer – beside himself with grief.
