Capitola: Does Darn Glenn have some competition?

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 95427 * Jim and his buddies Juan, Arthur, Miguel, and Freddie are our highliners today – they’re each showing one of the twenty fish they kept between the five of them (they released many smaller fish). Their keep included some browns, grass cod, and gopher cod, which they caught basically all over the place using frozen sardines and squid, rock cod rigs and chunked bait.

Not much going on in the other boats. We only had five boats out, and aside from the sardines we mentioned earlier, the only other fish of substance was a really nice brown rock cod that one boat caught by Sponge Bob.

On the wharf today, the bait didn’t come in ’til later this morning – maybe around 10:00am for the end of the wharf. Sardines started biting very well on bait jigs later this afternoon, and one small halibut (1/2 inch too short) caught and released near the beach with a bobber.

Weather wise, it was again foggy and in the 60s. It’s supposed to be clear and warmer the next few days.
