Capitola: Jim does his alma mater proud!

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 96041 * Jim here is an old customer – he’s up on the old wall of fame from 15 years ago. He saw our web site and brought down a boat buck in hope of hooking up a flattie. Not so much flattie wise, but he was fishing the edge of the kelp bed between the wharf and the point. He caught this 28 incher and another decent sized one along with some heft grass cod. He was going to let them all go, but this one was bleeding from its gills so he kept it. It’s good to see him come back and to hear he found our site!

On the wharf, the sardines once again are abundant – it was pandemonium this afternoon with dolphins, sea lions, cormorants, seagulls, and pelicans all working the bait and sardines flopping on the deck all over the place. No halibut off the wharf today yet however. There’s still some light left, so who knows.

Weather wise – pretty nice – foggy in the morning but it burned off early and stayed warm and sunny ’til the easterly came up – really still kind of a nice summer pattern ‘cept with shorter days. We’re supposed to get another week of this – here’s to hoping.
