Capitola: Still a bit left in this season it seems

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 96515 * Felix and his buddy Benito were fishing off Bomborra reef today and landed this nice 28 inch flatty and two limits of mixed rock cod that included grass, black and yellows, and one small cabezon. They were using surf leader setups with chunks of sardines in about 12 feet of water in a rental.

Two other rentals were out – one caught an undersized flattie and a couple rock cod which he released, the other caught a few grass cod which he also let go. The second boat spotted a bunch of small but legal white seabass in the same area Felix and Benito were fishing.

Sardines are wide open all up and down the wharf and all through the marina. We saw a few mackerel as well, but that’s it – nothing big.
