Capitola: All the year is a party for Darn Glenn

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 99779 * Another slow day in Capitola for boat rentals. The shiny side of that is that of the seven boats out, we had zero skunks! The lowest scoring rental had five rockfish from fishing around the kelp bed. Of course, Darn Glenn was our highliner, with the colorful stringer of goodies you see here. Boats that did well that were Not Darn Glenn were fishing up off the cement wall in front of O’Neil’s. They caught a variety of blacks, browns, and black-and-yellows. Darn Glenn reeled in his bounty fishing Adam’s Reef and out off of Boomer reef today. The lings came in on live sardines, and the blacks came in on megabaits laced with a bit of squid.

On the wharf, there are still lots of sardines outside of the marina. They only seem to be coming nearer to shore during certain parts of the day, mid-afternoon being the best time.
