Capitola: Not much but a lot of fun in our little corner of the bay.

Only two boats out today and not much in their bags. Mike and his buddies were fishing kelp beds off Capitola reef . The other boat fishing off the point caught and released a 23 inch ling and a 21 inch halibut, and took home a few cod.

The fish have gone on a we want sardine please mode. We had halibut actually chase fish traps to the boat without hooking but one? One that made a pass was well over 3 feet long. weirder yet they were following each other up in tandom to the point we could see them then shot back down to the bottom.
I am coming back with a spear gun and gear as the bottom must be littered with them based on what we saw.

This had to be the weirdest ocean fishing experience ever.
Dinner game in the form a 23incher flattie which isn’t much to talk about but enough for dinner.
