Capitola: Ed nearly found ЕљЕ«nyatДЃ today
Jose caught this 22 inch striped bass close to the beach using a live sardine under a bobber. He caught it just a few minutes ago – at 7:25 pm – close to the beach. Nice catch Jose!
There are a *lot* more sardines today than we’ve seen so far, and some of the anchovies appear to be larger. We think the sea lions have been chasing bait away from the beach here in the last few hours – Ed saw some lions jumping around outside the marina. Sightings have been exciting as well. Kurtis saw what he thought was a very large white seabass being eaten by a sea lion just outside the harbor. And Anna’s nephew Tim caught a 24 inch white seabass in the kelp on the west side of the wharf using a hair raiser. Ed thinks white swim baits and sassy chads will work as well. Also – we had some radio fish: four legal halibut caught outside the marina. We heard them calling Bayside asking what the limit was. By the call, they caught four halibut of some sort. Oh – and Ed says his thumbs are getting mighty tired from all the twiddlin’ “There is no thumb” Ed |

Capitola: Supervisin!
Here’s Ed supervisin’ paradise.
He’s not doing much though, cuz we again have *no* boats out and look at that water. It’s warm and flat, there’s bait through the marina, and Ed is twiddling his thumbs. Good day to cash in a boat buck. |

Capitola: Imagine the Bat Man theme song…
Imagine, cuz I do not know how to really spell it out – it’s something like daada daada daada — dadda… etc etc – anyhow…
This bat ray just made a showing near the end of the wharf. Brian was fishing with a shrimp fly jig laced with squid and this one took lunch. Lots of room on the wharf now and lots of bait |
