The Bayside Marine fishing report has been updated!
The wind and temperatures have combined to create an excellent environment for the preservation of fish. The day started out “ok” and kinda single mindedly strode toward “nasty” all day long as the wind and waves made their way around the point.
We did have some boats out though, and most caught at least one rock fish – some caught two. Nearly all stayed close to home and fished the reef using a variety of baits and lures.
On the wharf we’ve already had our first striper of the day. It was caught using a sardine under a bobber in the surf line (it was filleted before we could get a picture though). There are lots of sardines to be had at the end of the wharf right now, and with some luck we’ll again see an evening bite.
Well today started out really nice water was flat, sun was out,and the wind was calm. then out of nowhere it got windy and choppy. what little went out today came back with a few rockcod but not much to write home about. most of them started out late. best to get here first thing in the morning, get a jump on the weather. still have boats available for tomorrow so feel free to come out and do some fishing. if you would rather fish off the wharf the sardines have been in the last two days. report also is there was another halibut 28in. caught off the wharf today. don’t forget to take pictures so we can post them. it makes the report a lot better. thanks, till next time.
