Capitola: Ling party on the reef

Neftalli and lingcod
Here’s Neftalli with the 28 inch ling he hooked up on in just about the same spot that the stenographer caught his at. He was using frozen anchovies on a halibut rig. Beautiful fish!

So far today on the boats the only other fish we’ve heard of were the halibut that Larry caught out of Santa Cruz, and the short ling and halibut that the stenographer hooked up on in what is currently the honey spot on the reef.

Word down the line is that there was a very nice striper bite at the ship last night. By one account, 15 fish were caught – by another, there were 20. Regardless – a mess of them and it was an evening bite.
