Capitola: John 1 Harbor seal 0

John and striped bass
John just caught another striper – his biggest one yet this year. He was fishing about halfway from the surfline to the security gate on the west side of the wharf and was using a sliding rig with a live sardine. He barely got it away from a harbor seal that was chasing it – good net job Butters!

Ed however notes that the harbor seal in question is doing quite a bit better where Ed’s sardine jigging is concerned – it’s been biting off the bodies and leaving just the head on all the ones that Ed has tossed out on his sliding rig setup.
