Capitola: Well actually…

We do have a bait report.  This is entirely a function of the fact that the stenographer’s home floats at the edge of the marina and thus that he literally drives by the bait several times a day.  Today being no exception:

Early this morning – about 5:30 or so – sardines where extremely abundant just at the edge of the marina.  As in “it sounds like it’s raining” abundant.  By about 8:30 it had moved out about 1/4 mile but was still plentiful.

Right now birds are again working the edge of the marina.  Added bonus: it appears that the sooty shearwaters have arrived; a big flock of them did a fly by about 45 mins ago.

Capitola: !!!!!!!

Ok.  It seems that Eduardo et al are of the opinion that they are still in some sort of “honeymoon period” since the stenographer’s return.  Evidence of this is not hard to come by; we have no photos and no data.   !!! !!!

The beatings will commence tomorrow morning.

Capitola: …except for this

Happy angler and halibut and rock fish
Ed took this one yesterday shortly after the stenographer came back. The notes for this seem to be missing though, so pretty much it’s a picture. Enjoy :)

Steph just expressed some fear that the stenographer is going to brow-beat Ed and Steph through the next several posts. At the moment this sounds extremely entertaining. We shall see. Regardless however, we are back – sorry for the silence.

Capitola: And here is the one that brought it all down

Shawn and white seabass
Here’s Shawn with the 55 pounder you never saw last Wednesday. Nice hunh? This bite is now old news so ho hum. Nice fish though Shawn!!

It was at this point that Ed started using the new camera, which by default takes photos with a higher resolution, which the web site is not set up to accept, which yadda yadda yadda….. (“It Is Not My Fault!!!!”).

Capitola: So apparently….

Nico and Kevin and perch
… “it is not my fault!” – Ed *and* Steph, ALL DAY LONG, EVERY DAY

The list of excuses is so dizzyingly long that the stenographer is still trying to get his bearings. Steph is now claiming that I may no longer take any sort of vacation that is longer than 48 hours. I just think we need to up the incentive part or something. Sigh.

Anyway, this photo here is from the first indication that things were going awry – this is the photo of Nico and Kevin all the way from last Monday when they could not figure out how to post pictures. The relevant text from that post is:

“Nico and Kevin smiling wide with 6 Walleye Perch, a Pampano perch and a Jacksmelt. They caught them on the wharf using wharf set-ups next to the cleaning table. (We’ll post the pic when we are able to.)”

NOTE that “when we are able to” was apparently NEVER. Sigh sigh sigh.
