Capitola: We are ready for our closeup Mr. Rudy

Rene, Rudy, Francis, John and a nice stringer
Rene, Rudy, Francis, and John are our highliners today! They brought in this mixed bag of rock cod fishing off Soquel point using rock cod jigs with bits of anchovies and squid. They said the fish bit all day long. An awesome catch you guys!

Rudy is The Man, by the way – he’s made a new video that just blows us away with its coolness – you can watch it here:

We only had one other rental boat out today – that boat came in with three rock cod that they caught just inside the mile reef.

Bait was kind of on and off this morning. The day started out extremely foggy which made spotting bait difficult (though it could be found). Once the fog cleared it was pretty easy to both spot and jig them. Ed went a little bit insane at that point and caught eighty of them for the bait tank.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a replay of today – fog in the morning and then clearing to warm and sunny ’til the wind comes up. We have a few more boats available yet for tomorrow, but you probably want to call to reserve one if you want to be sure.

Hi all of you fishermens and womens out there !
This is Rudy also know as “HALIBU77″ on Youtube .
I told you , there are alot of fish out here to catch .
I was asked by you guys to prove it , and here they are.
I brought 3 other fishermens to make sure that when you come out you’ll also have a great time just like these guys
limits, 40 rockcod 1 – 24″ lingcod. Today we used frozen whole squid the fish prefered it because there are alot of baby octopus in Capitola reefs right now. Don’t be suprise to catch one , we caught about 4 sticky suckers.

The key to catching fish is 3-way set-up rigs with double hooks, bait frozen whole squid or frozen whole anchovies live bait if possible ,sinkers 4oz. for calm water 8oz for afternoon fast drifting, and always drop you lines to the bottom and reel up about 5 cranks , hold on tight and wait for the ride !!!!!!

Note: During the morning is the best for fishing because of the high winds and current during this time of the month so check-in early and explore.

STAY CLOSE TO THE KELP BEDS OR THE HARBOR IF THE FOG IS TOO THICK, YOU CAN GET LOST OUT THERE.

ENJOY YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVERYONE ,
    REMEMBER FISHING IS FUN .
SAY HI TO PASSING RENTAL BOATS
AND ASKED THEY IF THEIR HOOKING UP , HELP EACH OTHER OUT THERE , SEE YA RUDY : )
