Capitola: Eduardo seeks the elusive stickyfish

Chris caught this 20 pound halibut today fishing out by Adam’s “On Fire!” Reef. He was in a rental (obiously) with friends and was using live sardines on a halibut rig. This puts Chris very squarely as our highliner for today.

The picture is out on the water today cuz Ed took a day off to do a little spelunking for fish himself. He had some very nice takedowns, but nothing stuck. Darn darn darn. Darn.

We only had three boats out, but no skunks and everyone had some rock cod.

Bait was scarce this morning, but it’s currently scattered in small balls all over the place outside the marina and out by Adam’s reef. Ed also notes that as he was leaving the wharf today people were jigging sardines up.

Ed is going to maybe look further west tomorrow for some fish with more adhesive qualities. We wish him the best.
