Cool fish, looks like it just fit into the slot limit for a keeper. No pink or bloody spots which means the fish was iced or dressed properly.

Sturgeon has a pork steak like firmness to the steaks it produces. No backbone or side bones so common to many fish either.

The rain falling today will also drive the darn little delta nuisance crabs away which both the sturgeon and crabs compete for food for off the bottom. This makes keeping a shrimp bait(ghost, grass,or mud)in the strike zone a lot easier.
Suisan bay has been really good for sturgeon of late particularly getting up on the flats were the sturgeon congregate to feed on grass shrimp.

Also One super nice one like this, is plenty of steaks to go around for friends and family. Freezes ok but much better eaten fresh.
