Capitola: Hot Pink Rod Catches the Fish!

Capitola: Shawn and Ashey with Salmon
Ashley was out on her first fishing trip with Kurtis down off Mulligan’s and came in with these two. They got their four fish trolling.

Shawn was fishing with Josh on the west side of Soquel Hole. She landed these two with her new pink rod.

…and that’s all they’re saying!

We had eight private boats out today and three came in with limits, two came in with one, one came in with three, and one had none. We had ten rental boats out today, three of which that were targeting Salmon, none of them got a fish. Maybe tomorrow. The boats that were going for Halibut caught a few Rock Cod, which of course they had to throw back. Overall, it was a nice day out here with only a little breeze in the afternoon!

Capitola: Frank and Jim, Second in with Limits!

Capitola: Frank and Jim and Salmon
Frank and Jim came back about an hour ago with these four shiny guys. They were roughly nine miles straight out from the Capitola Wharf, from 140 feet to 30 feet down on Purple Haze Hootchies and blue & white Yamashita Squid Baits.

On their way back they found a bunch of bait out by Adams Reef and out by the Yellow Can (within our rental boundaries,) that was looking like a pretty good bet for Salmon…too bad they already had their limits!

Capitola: First Ones in with Limits!

Capitola: First Salmon of 2012!
JoJo and Larry got these four fish trolling 283 feet of water, 45 feet down, using a blue Kajiki behind a red Hot Spot on the west side of the Soquel Hole (51′ 00′).

(You’ll notice that one fish is missing it’s head, it was a hatchery fish and had to be surrendered to Fish & Game.)

Now we wait for the next ones to come in! We’ll post them as they come!
