Believe it or not, you may not need a fishing license:
- If you fish from the either of the two wharfs, you do not need a fishing license thanks to Public Trust Doctrine traditions public wharves have evolved with.
- However, if you step on the beach or into a boat, you must have a fishing license.One-day licenses are available at both our shops. The price for a one day license is $12.60. It allows you to fish in both salt and fresh water environments. Fishing licenses can be purchased at both the Santa Cruz and Capitola stores, but it is best to call ahead - sometimes we run out.
